Expected Learning Outcomes

The JCF BA programme in Journalism is aimed to provide JCF students with:


Graduates will have the basic knowledge of social sciences and humanities necessary for the acquisition of specialized knowledge and professional skills, and for the development of personal values. They can also apply the use of statistics and computational skills in their future careers.




Graduates will have the basic knowledge of journalism and media necessary to conduct professional tasks such as writing and reporting, editing, broadcasting, and strategic planning. They can Collect – Verify – Explain – Publish information and news, as well as Conceive – Design – Implement – Operate creative ideas for communities and businesses within the new contexts of the media.




Graduates will have critical and creative thinking skills, self-learning abilities, as well as the effective communication skills necessary to be successful in various working environments. They are also able to work in a multicultural, multinational context.




Graduates will have a mature manner and a positive attitude towards life and work. They will act according to social norms, cultural norms, and are fully aware of their own civil rights and responsibilities. They also know how to maintain a strong physical and mental health, so as to deal with social issues at their best.
